What used to be our Dog of the Year contest has now become our Pet of the Year contest! The Pet of the Year Fundraiser is a contest between any pets that have been adopted from South Jersey Regional Animal Shelter. Cats, dogs, guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens or any other pet adopted from us are welcome to participate. All pets participating will have their photo presented on a display board that travels to our various events. The public chooses their favorite pet among the photos of the contestants and "votes" by placing money in the box below their favorite pet's photo. Each contestant is also given four donation boxes with their pet's photo attached to place at local businesses of their choice. The public may also vote by making a donation for their favorite pet on our website through paypal. Many of our previous contestants have had very successful facebook campaigns, with friends and family voting through our website. At the end of the contest the money garnished from each contestant's photos and donation boxes are totaled and the winning pet is the one whose photo has brought in the most donations. The winning pet receives a $300 gift card and has their photo displayed in our lobby.

Each pet that participates must be sponsored by a local business or by their family with a $150 donation to South Jersey Regional Animal Shelter. The contributing businesses will be advertised under their sponsored pet's photo at all of our events, on our website and on our digital display along Delsea Drive. 

Once all entries are in (submission deadline is 3/31 each year), 12 entries will be selected to compete for the prize!

Although there can only be one winner, the spirit of the contest is for all the lucky pets in loving homes to raise as much money as possible to support the many animals still waiting for their forever homes. It is a fun and rewarding contest and one of the shelter's largest fundraisers. A vote for any of these pets is a vote to support all the animals in our community in need of loving homes.
